California living can be a dream come true
When trying to decide where in the world to live, California destinations have the best of everything the world has to offer. Whether someone loves high mountains or desert, movie stars or solitude, California offers the best of everything. And with 840 miles of coastline, the urge to get away can always be satisfied with easy access to the way back home.
A diverse population means fantastic ethnic food and music, and the comfortable weather means people are social and active. Because California produces so much food and has so much coastline, food is fresh and delicious. Individuals who move to California tend to stay.
What makes California better?
When making a list of California facts, it's amazing to consider that California is the only state to have hosted both the winter and summer Olympics. With nine national parks spanning over a million acres, there are affordable, educational vacations close to home. California can be the largest producer of fruit in the United States because of the excellent weather, which residents enjoy in every season.
People moved to California in the 1800s searching for gold and people move to Hollywood searching for fame, but many people move to California every year because they're searching for the perfect life.
California cities
The main cities in California are as diverse as the population. Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world and averages 292 sunny days per year. Beverly Hills, home to many movie stars, is a city also in Los Angeles County and features the fabulous shopping mecca Rodeo Drive. Beverly Grove, Los Angeles borders Beverly Hills and holds over 20,000 people in less than two square miles.
San Diego has over 70 miles of beaches and more than a million people. San Jose has over a million people, but is also called Silicon Valley and is known for its technological prowess. Tourism is the main business in San Francisco, which has 7.5 miles of waterfront, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge.
California living
What all this means for the average person is that California isn't just beautiful and comfortable, but healthy. Sunshine is an antidote to the depression which sets in for the parts of the country which see the sun less and less during the winter. Consistent exposure to nature offers constant stress relief, and being by the beach makes people feel healthier.
Being surrounded by other people chasing their dreams is psychologically healthy. Learning to take risks is hard but good because it's impossible to succeed without trying. And being creative is mentally healthy.
Making the move
It's hard to have the courage to make a change, but there are all the advantages here. And while not everyone ends up living out the dream they imagined, as a movie star or screenwriter, just being in California is a big part of the pleasure.
